Our Lesson Program!

My lesson program is dedicated to teaching children and adults to ride in both the English and Western disciplines. We are focused on establishing the essential foundation of horsemanship skills necessary for the successful fulfillment of goals in every equestrian discipline. We place a high value on being able to attain our goals while maintaining safety as our primary concern, and of course, we have a lot of fun while doing it!

Lesson students will learn universal riding techniques centered around the forward riding system. With an emphasis on educating students on how to understand and communicate effectively with the horse, our lesson program builds self-esteem and confidence through independent thinking and problem-solving skills that also apply to our daily lives. If desired, the basics of caring for a horse such as grooming, tacking, and un-tacking can be included in one’s lesson time. We respect every individual's distinct goals and interests in riding and customize every student’s lessons based on those preferences.

Students start with individual lessons to learn the basics of balance and control on a horse. Once a student has developed these skills and does not require the assistance of a handler on the ground, they’re eligible for placement in a semi-private and/or group lesson setting. More advanced students may learn to do lead changes and if the rider wishes, JUMP! Riding students are also given the opportunity to compete in schooling shows on up to “A” circuit rated shows so that they may experience every aspect of the horse world.

Lessons are offered year-round, seven days a week (Mon-Sun), by appointment only. We have horses available for lessons, as well as horses offered for a quarter, half, and full leases. It is required to take regular lessons before leasing so we can ensure we match the rider with the appropriate horse. Every full or partial lease is structured to meet the needs of the rider and availability of the horse. We place the greatest importance on finding the best match between horse and rider. We emphasize reinforcing skills learned in a weekly lesson(s), having more practice time in the saddle to build fitness/muscle memory, and learning to really understand horse behavior.

We have pay per lesson pricing as well as Membership structure pricing and leases/sponsors of individual horses as well. Please note, trail rides follow the same pricing structure. For those that want to ride on a regular weekly schedule - please inquire about our Memberships. We accept cash, check, Venmo, GooglePay, ApplePay, and PayPal at this time.

Riding Attire:

  1. We recommend that students wear riding breeches (workout/stretch yoga pants or looser fitting jeans can work).
  2. All students are required to wear closed-toe boots with a small heel.
  3. Helmets are provided if you do not have your own.
